Tom is an inspiring and motivated  Teacher of Humanities following an incredibly worthwhile Initial Teacher Training (ITT) year with Teach East at our sister school Arthur Mellows Village College.  He is a graduate of Mapping and Surveying from Newcastle University and has been in management and leadership roles in The British Army since graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2011.

As a passionate geographer and historian, Tom relishes the opportunity to impart his experiences and knowledge onto others in the classroom.  He wholeheartedly believes that studying humanities allows us to understand the world in which we live and make informed decisions about its future.  Tom is an advocate for promoting school as a positive and progressive experience where the main aim should be to shape the student into a well-rounded young adult ready to confidently take on the challenges that life presents.

He aspires to spearhead Manor Drive's Military  Skills Club, organise invaluable field trips and enthusiastically contribute to the schools Mind, Body and Goal initiative.  He is extremely excited by the prospect of teaching humanities at a pioneering school whose ethos echoes his own values.
