Claire is a highly skilled Primary School teacher with 25 years of experience, working in a range of different schools from a multicultural East London school to smaller village schools in the local area. As RE, Ethos and Welfare lead at her previous school she helped the team to achieve an ‘excellent’ grade for their recent SIAMs (Church School) inspection. She is a team player who is passionate about teaching and encouraging children to maximise their potential, whatever their specific needs.

Claire completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in ‘Helping children with literacy difficulties’ and has spent the last 3 years running intervention groups in her previous school, to boost both literacy and maths development. She believes that all children can be supported, using specific strategies that work best for them, to ensure they can read, write and use basic mathematical skills to the best of their ability.

Claire is trained to use Precision Teaching and is experienced with supporting children with Dyslexia. Working closely with the SEN lead she provides bespoke interventions to close the gaps in both literacy and mathematical knowledge and skills, helping develop children’s confidence in their own abilities. She is looking forward to helping the library in school to develop dyslexia reading resources for children with different interests. She wants all children to develop a passion for reading for pleasure and believes that everyone can find books that they enjoy; they just have to be pointed in the right direction.

Outside of school, Claire is a proud mother of three adult children, two of whom are in the acting business. Her own children are the inspiration for helping other children achieve their very best. She especially enjoys going to the theatre with family and friends. She also loves baking cakes, reading, playing board games and travelling.
