Anna is a highly skilled teacher who left a career in accountancy and taxation to pursue a life-long ambition of teaching English.  She is passionate about the transformative power of reading for all and brings her focus on developing reading and crafting writing skills to underpin the whole curriculum within the Academy.  It is not only skills she seeks to foster but the love of reading itself which she aims to capture in our learners.

In the 7 years she has worked at AMVC, Anna has continued to pursue excellence in her teaching and is a very well regarded practitioner.  Her philosophy is that all students have limitless potential and it is positivity, encouragement and high expectations that can ensure that all are able to strive to improve.  Experienced with teaching Year 7-13 and across all abilities, Anna is an adaptive and responsive teacher who nurtures her students towards excellence and with an outstanding record of results at both GCSE and A Level, she has the experience in supporting students to achieve at the highest level.

Beyond the classroom, Anna has experienced working as Head of Year and has experienced the transition from Primary to Secondary school many times as both a year leader and as a parent.  Most recently she has been involved in the KS3 English curriculum re-design at AMVC and she will bring this wealth of experience in devising curriculum at MDSA.
