As Headteacher, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and introduce you to our vision for Manor Drive Secondary Academy.
One of the most important decisions you make as a parent/carer is where to send your child to school. It may be a school that promotes high levels of achievement or one that has a challenging and inspiring curriculum with a variety of extra-curricular opportunities. You will want one that recognises the importance of pastoral care, where your child feels safe and happy whilst believing they can succeed.
Manor Drive Secondary Academy will endeavour to fulfil and exceed the expectations you have for your child. Whilst being a dynamic and innovative school we will have traditional core values: high standards, innovative teaching and a strong emphasis on student wellbeing. Our ethos focuses on enabling every student to make outstanding progress through the highest quality of teaching and learning. Our unique and diverse curriculum will equip students with the skills, knowledge and values needed for a successful future. We will create a learning environment that is not only stimulating and celebratory but also, most importantly, one that meets the needs of every young person in our care. There will be the opportunity to pursue a range of Enrichment activities aimed at encouraging students to develop their interests and explore new ones, and all of this in a brand new, beautiful school building.
Education is a partnership. We understand that effective communication between home and school is essential, and this begins today. We intend to give parents formal and informal opportunities to come to the Academy and talk with staff and once your child has joined us, you will be welcome and encouraged to contact us to seek advice or reassurance should you need it. We are also committed to creating a working partnership with the local community.
I understand that choosing a new school may be a difficult decision but I can assure you it will not be one you will regret. I began this journey in June 2018 and I still have the same passion, enthusiasm and drive for creating an outstanding experience for the young people of Peterborough. Be sure that our vision, ethos and drive for academic success has not been built over night and has the support of the Four Cs Multi Academy Trust. Your child has the opportunity to be part of something inspiring and exciting.
I hope this has given you an insight into the Academy and its ambitions and I hope to meet your child and you in the future.
