BEBRAS Certification Awards

MDSA took part in the Oxford University BEBRAS National Computing Competition in November.

Manor Drive Secondary Academy (MDSA) took part in the Oxford University BEBRAS national Computing competition in November; BEBRAS is a competition that tests students computational thinking, problem solving, and puzzle solving through a series of increasingly difficult challenges.

Results from BEBRAS have been returned and 5 students from MDSA have been awarded the highest level of certification from the competition – the Gold award certificate, of which is only given to students who score within the top 10% of all similarly aged students nationally. The Gold award certificate also acts as an invitation to an extremely prestigious follow-on competition, The Oxford Computing Challenge.

The five students who attained the Gold award certificate are:

  1. Mateusz   (#1 in Y8, received a £10 Amazon gift card, top 4% nationally)
  2. Leo   (Joint #1 in Y7, received a £10 Amazon gift card, top 7% nationally)
  3. Shanniece   (Joint #1 in Y7, received a £10 Amazon gift card, top 7% nationally)
